Growing
Tall, strong and lean
That’s who we wish to become ever since we were a seed
We fight because we don’t want to be at the bottom
Wither into nothing because we don’t get enough sunlight or rain.
With every winter and fall we shed our leaves and grow new ones because every leaf means something.
The clouds of anger and sadness pass above our heads, with the simple push of a breeze.
We get infected with bugs and other poisons so we must be aware, but we can always recover with the proper care.
Our bark gets thicker as we age
We all want to grow old and acquire the rings that we call wrinkles.
