Blinded By Light
Confused and lost
I whip around astonished
You want to what?
“We are so sorry, but it’s too much.”
Adoption.
They couldn’t afford the child they had,
Needed to let me go.
“You are going to a better home, we promise”
Too bad they were wrong.
Bouncing from home to home
I wasn’t what they were looking for.
“We love you sweetie, we will come visit”
That was two years ago
Not a word from them
I was forgotten.
“We will never forget you, you are our world”
What a small world it must be
To be forgotten and bruised
Always wandering never wanted.
“We will see you soon..”
Sure.
