The River With A Story
In south Soledad of California a river flows,
4,160 miles of history.
A river of deep green a river of deep memories,
longing for a something new.
Yellow mountains of sand sit on the banks, uninhabited and alone.
The trees tell a story by their bark and leaves.
Mottled, almost everyone, their limbs are recumbent,
They are sad.
Darkness falls and animals come out to graze.
The deer sip gracefully at the cold water,
Rabbits sit on the hills and look into the night.
The river with a history
The river with a feeling
This river has a story.
