My Eyes Only
I wake up every morning to look into the mirror
Happy by what I see
But I still cover my face with makeup
Just to feel even more pretty
She puts on too much make up, is what they say
Constantly getting asked who I am trying to impress
As if I’m not allowed to just wear it for myself
As if I should feel ashamed for trying to love myself
For my perfectly arched eyebrows
Winged eyeliner
And blended smoky eyes
are not for the guys
But are for me and my self esteem.
