You’re taking my heart
like a final breath
escaping the lungs of my body.

It’s almost like i’m going to outer space
and reaching for stars
I only saw laying on the flat ground of the earth
Allowing grass to tickle my neck
all the way down to my back.

You’re always parking yourself in my thoughts
without a permit of acceptance,
You should get a ticket
for trespassing into
the road of my mind.

Before you came into view in my dark brown eyes,
I was independent and alone.
Now you spread green and hazel into these pits of darkness
adding a desperate sparkle of granite into my eyes.

That’s why I can say
I made it another day.

This poem is about myself and my boyfriend that i've been with for 2 years and have known for 15.

What inspired this poem was because he has created a lot of happiness in my life. He is my sunshine on a gloomy day, and when the suns light hits my eyes you can see the mixture of green and brown. So this is a personal poem that explains how my boyfriend helped through my depressive life and created a happier one for me.
