The Odyssey Across Hope

Moonlight shines
over the black capped waves
of the Sea of Hope.
Always violent,
Always churning,
No ships able to cross it.
Wreckage strewn across the bottom.
Only one boat has made it across,
more or less a dinghy,
beaten and battered against the waves
but makes it to the other shore.
With the journey over
the lone passenger
drops to the ground
and watches the stars in the sky.
