Burning
In my little home, I watched as the flames surrounded me
My body became fatigue, I knew the smoke was lethal
But no thought crossed my mind, of getting out alive
Instead I laid in silence, breathing in the smoke
My mind as vacant as an old house
I looked up to see a hole burned into my roof
Allowing me to see the night sky
I heard the sirens from miles away
as my eyes closed at ease
Setting my burning soul free
