It’s Possible that I am not me
And you are not you.
It’s Possible that behind the face we see,
Lies something completely brand new.
Nothing is what it seems
There’s no such thing as reality
All we do is live our dreams
But on a slight technicality.

It’s possible that the sky is green
Instead of blue.
It’s Possible that the lessons life teaches me
Are simply not true.
Maybe it’s all a lie,
I simply cannot deny
These possibilities have me overwhelmed,
It makes me wanna cry.
Because all my life I’ve learned
That if you want something, it has to be earned.
But recently I’ve come to see
Just because I earned it, doesn’t mean it belongs to me.
The world is cruel
There are no rules
To stop the greedy from taking the rewards
From those who work till they drool.

It’s possible that music is more than
Just rhythms and tunes.
The music that we listen to says something
About me and you.
Are we soft and sensitive?
Are we hardcore with no sense of direction?
Does the music keep the bodies calm
As they sit in detention?
Does our music carry meaning?
Is there something we’re not seeing?
Because we’re so worried about me,myself, and I,
Instead of the general population without whom we would die.

It’s possible that next year blacks will not be residents
If Donald Trump next year becomes President.
Today the world has become misdirected
As we fear those who are supposed to provide our protection.
Why can’t we all just join hands together
And then the weight of our problems would be light as a feather?

It’s possible that these ramblings
Are just the misguided thoughts
Of a weird teenage girl
Who doubts all she’s been taught.
But this girl know how to think
And now she’s on the brink
Of leading this world to greatness
And ridding it of all of the hatefulness.
