Winter's Woes MAG
The first leaves of winter fell
orange, crisp, twirling, whirling,
with the white of snow in sight,
the whispers of cold, calamitous winds
that blow the trees’ fragile fragments
away, sneaking up,
slithering to bite the freeze onto your fingers
and turn them turquoise,
leaving you barren and blue.
But inside our dwellings safety lies,
beneath the lips of hissing chill
that even mighty, frightful bears be
afraid to face, and
Spring comes once again,
and green grows back.
