A quaint, mining town in Michigan,
with hard workers trying to provide for their families,
an aroma of pasties caries in the wind from homes welcoming back miners.

Miners work deep underground for days.
What food would they eat, hands rough and dirty from labor?
Longing for the warmth of home, and the embrace of family.

But not where the miners call home now, or where they go to bed,
but where their ancestors come from and where traditions were born.
Traditions of food, celebration, and family.

A pasty, simple yet packed with fuel to
provide energy for days of mining to come.
A tradition passed down through generations for work and enjoyment.
