Beyond The Light

A dread beyond the night
Your grave, a barrier in the wind
A frosted rose
Thorns pricking into your hand
Shadows of the willow tree
Linger over the stone
If I Could borrow a minute
A moment with no glooming clouds
A whispered moment
Where we could search for the sun
But these winter days
Run on a twenty-five hour clock
The playground creaks
And the swings are hushed
Loss is like a tree
That loses its leaves forever
By you I rest
And wait for this chill to lead me to you.
