The Lone Wolf and The Cowardly Lion

I saw him from a far
sculpted and mysterious
looking into his eyes was like getting lost in the night
but he'd never look at me
a smile that could guide me out of my darkness
yet he'd always smile right past me
laughter that could heal wounds
but would he ever laugh with me?
a lone wolf
strong and independent
hunting for a beautiful gazelle
and I'm just a cowardly lion
afraid of her own shadow
