The Girl in the Mirror
a glance at the mirror
quick and subtle
long enough to feel disgust
but not long enough to dwell on the feeling
spotting big, blue eyes
depressed and worn out
tears threatening to spill
pale skin, sickly in appearance
the light giving it a yellow glow
hair messy and disheveled
hardly brushed, shoved in a bun
a small smile, hardly disguising the sadness
shoulders slightly hunched
legs daring to buckle at the knees
the mirror reflects it all, every flaw
as if tormented thoughts of the mind weren't enough
they interrogate the victim rather than criminal
