Broken needles buried beneath the dirt,
Frowning faces drowning in abusive-sea.
Overdosing on opioids, a crippling crisis.
When will this disease called addiction cease to exist?
Afraid to address the problem, suppressed conversations.
Depressant dependence sweeps the street, sweet release.
Too many young souls looking for comatose retreat,
Lost in a world of empty promises, sorry solutions.
