Battleground
The classroom was a battleground,
musty books, like fallen soldiers, lean lifeless against one another, each story long forgotten.
The paint on the walls, chipped and scarred, tells tales of tyrants with unfathomable tempers,
while the desks, adorned with etchings and scrawls, name those who dared fight back.
Alone and ignored, a broken clock sits, remembering another time.
