ALONG FOR THE BOAT RIDE
Upon arrival I am excited
Excited for the ride and sun
Sitting and feeling the hot leather
Rub against my thigh
The smooth ride giving me joy
The hot rays absorbing in my skin
Suddenly feeling happy
Dad in the captain seat
Me sunbathing as usual
The wind in my hair
Sunglasses preventing the sunshine
Not a cloud in sight
Just the water and other boats surrounding me
Cruising through the canal
Steady pace no faster than three mph
Calm ride as I approach my way to the bow
Leaning across the railing
Breathing in the warm summer air
Lying on my back taking in my surroundings
What a life I get to live
Boat ride after boat ride
I could never get sick of this.
