The Morning Brew
You enter the small shop.
The cool blue of the room soothes you,
and tranquil voices surround your ears.
The aroma of fresh brewing coffee
fills your nostrils.
The teenage cashier utters your name,
holding the temperate cup.
And as you stroll toward them,
you hear the steam hiss
as if it’s dissolving all of the
stress you’ve been bearing.
Your taste buds tingle with anticipation
the moment before meeting
the heated cup with a sip.
As the dark liquid flows into
your mouth, you experience
a warm cozy sensation
sweeping throughout your body.
By the time the last drop
leaves the still warm cup,
you feel refreshed,
and you know
nothing can go wrong today.
