i don't wish to be your burden
and i'm sorry for holding you down
i don't wish for you to think of me
as a dark and looming cloud
but sometimes i wish i was a cloud
so i could float away
maybe then the sun could shine
and allow brightness into your day
if you lived a cloudless life full of sunny days
there'd never be a single drop of water or of pain
but like the wise man always says
there cannot be a rainbow without some rain
