Where Were You
Where were you
When I was eating lunch alone
Pretending to scroll through pictures on my phone
Where were you
When I was sitting by the pool
No one to talk to, I was feelin’ like a fool
Where is anyone
When I’m on the verge of tears
Having no one to lean on, as I encounter my fears
With no one to talk to,
And no one to hold, I wonder:
Will my story ever be told?
Or will I just be left in the cold
Unable to check, or call, just fold
I wish things were different
I wish things weren’t the same
Maybe then I could make an imprint
And finally play this game
