How I Feel

I look into your eyes
I see resentment
I listen to your voice
I hear disappointment
I want your love and affection
But all I do is wreck expectation
Can you see my sadness?
Can you hear my voice getting small?
Sometimes when I'm around you, I don't recognize myself at all
I'm sorry I'm not what you imagined, but I can't change myself
I like myself too much to do so
Please, no more hits to my character and my faults
My personality can't handle another blow
My love for myself is enough
For you and for me
