the spring is dead
new life;
young cherry blossoms float through the air
and growing green restores color to a dull landscape
new warmth;
the sun emerges and its rays caress the earth
radiant is the vibrant landscape and gentle sky
new love;
the abounding human warmth rivals the sunshine
and the renewal of life is the herald of joy
they can see the spring, but you are not with them.
death;
this year’s blossoms are limp and lifeless
compared to the green of his eyes, the spring is dull
cold;
even the heated tension was more comforting
and the desperate warmth of that night has long faded into numbness
heartache;
love brings the tearful pain of missing
and the permanence of his absence leaves you forever empty
you can’t see the spring anymore, because he took it with him.
