I have always been told,
That I am too loud,
When I speak, It's almost like a shout,
That when I open my mouth,
I give people headaches.
Now I am told,
My opinions do not matter,
I am told my voice cannot make a difference,
That the things I say are not of importance,
Because of my age I am not knowledgeable,
But I try to hold my voice strong and proud.
My speech was a gift,
A form of immense power withing,
Something I could use for good or bad,
I way I could be strong.
I am tired of being silenced,
No longer will I be put down for talking,
Now I know I can speak strong and proud,
Because I have been told,
My voice is loud.
