For the girls,
For the girls who put their bodies before their heart
For the girls who were sweet to the touch
Made of milk and honey
Skin smooth as silk
Becoming worn out souls,
Bodies and minds
The bitter taste of regret
Set in cold, plastic, mannequin hearts
For the girls who put their bodies before their minds,
Take your time
Figure it out
You are only ever coming home to yourself

When you are young, growing and still discovering yourself, it is often so easy to get caught up in things that don't really matter. I wrote this piece not only has a reminder to my fellow girls to respect and cherish yourself, but also as a reminder to myself to always practice self love and acceptance.
