Their love for each other was toxic,
Yet intoxicating.
They spent every waking moment together.
Road trips, late night dinners,
Everything.
So caught up in her perception of love,
She didn't notice the damage he created.
Slap.
Punch.
Kick.
She was petrified.
No baby, I love you
He would plead.
And she would forgive him.
Every. Single. Time.
Every word he said was a sweet nothing.
Empty.
That's how she felt,
But she ignored that feeling because he loved her, right?
You can't leave me,
I won't let you
He said.
Everyday, she grew more and more aloof with her loved ones.
What's wrong?
They would ask her.
Nothing, I'm fine,
She would reply.
She started to wear less revealing clothing
For fear that someone would notice the bruises.
I only hurt you because I love you,
He would say.
She would smile and kiss him with a sinking feeling in her stomach and say,
I know, baby, I know.
Talking to her friends one day,
She stayed out too late for his liking.
She slowly shut the door, trying to go unnoticed.
He spoke in a low tone,
But that low tone quickly turned into shouts.
Fists were thrown.
Blood.
So much blood.
She was on the ground, begging and pleading.
Tears were flowing freely from her eyes.
He had no mercy.
I'm doing this because I love you
He cried out.
With one last blood-curdling scream,
He finished her off.
She took her last breath and simply thought
It’s okay because he loves me, right?

This is quite a piece. It's beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I cried while I was reading this. Overall, very clean and excellent writing.
