It's Dark In Here
It's dark in here.
No, not in this suffocating room or this world they call open, but everyday I live in fear for it is truly dark in here.
The tendrils of shadows close around me and lock around my neck for days on end before finally granting me relief from this nightmare.
The air inside brings a chill to my bones, but their eyes are darker still and the wits they call sharp are dull compared to the words uttered from their lips.
The dirty hands they call helpful are anything but, and their smiles that shine sheath daggers in my heart.
Their caring, and their pity only serves to make things worse; and their laughter, and their happiness brings tears to mine eyes, but I won't shed them, no one will see. The only one in this dark void is me.
It's dark in here.
