WHERE I’M FROM
I’m from a room with a night light
Made by Pixar, It’s Mater from Cars!
I’m from my dad’s RAV4
That finally broke down thirteen years after getting it
I am from a kitchen
From chocolate ice cream
I’m from a time where everything was gluten free
Even the bread and peanut butter
I’m from a garage that held my bicycle
My training wheels, breaking,
I constantly bought new ones.
I am from the clinic
Freaking out from the needle that drew blood from me
I am from my Grandparents in North Dakota
Making snowmen while wearing a marshmallow jacket
I am from a life with a series of wonderful events
But the bad ones still showed. Like scar tissue on my knee
I am from everlasting therapy which vaporized my autism
The doctors say that I still have ADHD
I’m from desperate parents
Every penny spent for my mentality
I’m still living life full
Seeing a bright, blinding future
Soaring higher than a seagull
And fixing the darkness with a suture.
