Dear girl, why could you not look at the sun?

Was my letters not enough?

Until my arrival I begged you to watch the sun.

Dear girl, why wasn't time on my side?

Though the months went by, I saved and saved.

I saved for the cheapest ticket to you.

The quickest route to your arms.

I ached to touch you.

To feel you.

To have your soft lips finally touch mine.

So as I gave up the life of familiarity for your soft vibrant green eyes.

I stood on the platform with your last letter in hand.

How silly of me to not realize how unresponsive you became.

Towards the end, my letters to never seemed to come back answered.

The devotion to you must have blinded me, my apologies.

And I wrote, that when I finally arrived, that all I would ask from you is your hand.

I may never be able to afford a ring but I promise my love for you was strong enough.

As 3 O'clock came and went, you were nowhere to be seen.

After asking around for your whereabouts, I had found out you never did look at the sun.

Instead you looked at the moon.

Perhaps he was easier on the eyes but his cool love would never burn as much as I.

My sweet, sweet Rosaline.

You where never truely mine.
