“Attention all units, we have a 10-56A,
anyone able to respond?” squaked dispatch.
“10-4 dispatch, show me as
responding code three....” Replied the officer.
“10-23 dispatch, on scene now.” Reported the officer

“Crap! They know I’m here,
I just saw a squad car roll up.” Thought the man on the ledge
“Hey! Get down from there!
Alright, just tell me what’s going on,
we can get through this, but
you have to step down from the ledge.” The officer persuaded.
“Go away! I don’t want your help!
Just go away! Leave me alone!” The man yelled.

“C’mon man, I’m sure you have a great
reason to be up there, but just think
about the people that love you
and miss you.” The officer trying to sound convincing.
“What if I do? You’ll just tackle me
and take me to jail!” The man jeered back.
“No, no, no, I would never
do that to you, I only want you to be safe.” The officer responded.

“Alright. I’m coming down, but you stay back!” The man warned.
“Good, good, now walk over to me
and let's get you off this roof.” The officer succeeded.
“Alright buddy, these are only
for your protection... Ok, lets go
back to the station and chat.” said the officer kindly.

“Tell my family I’m sorry.” Cried the man.
“They know buddy,
don’t worry.” The officer answered.
