On Poinsettias MAG
Emblazoned poinsettias burn
crimson red in their sentient flesh,
raveling together crooked slants
of glass that glimmer on ragged edges.
Droplets of dawn settle on each leaf,
iridescent pins of scattered, globular mirrors
feeding back distorted images of the present,
mere silhouettes recessing in frenetic patterns.
The uprooted poinsettias gasp for water,
chalked thirst lingering on their tongues,
running like the rivers on Titan,
rivulets of salt pulsing across fractured capillaries.
