stained glass
she searched
through the soft swaying blades,
returning the birds home to the earth,
redressed the path with upturned stones,
until her feet met with polished oak and
pious air warmed her skin.
while her
eyes grazed cold pews,
she walked toward the father's place.
once there,
she hastily retreated,
shaken from the embrace coming down.
with her hands she traced along it's
perfect jagged colored light.
she flooded in envy.
tasting disdain on her tongue,
she spoke,
if only someone would admire the sunlight
that fell through her in pieces.
