Don't Give Up: Vilanelle (inspired by E.E Cummings)
Don't Give Up
You have lost hope,
but don't let others know that
Keep your chin up and put on a smile.
Things will get better
Don't give up
There are worse things that could happen
There are worse things they can say
Believe in yourself, and you will soon be confident again.
Hide your face so the world will never find out that you lost hope
Don't give up, because It's a hard knock life,
And that's just how life is.
Wasn't it yesterday, when you were young, and you believed nothing could stop you?
Be that person and do not give up.
Consider yourself at home, be yourself and don't give up.
Remember your confidence
Try to capture every minute of it, the feeling in it, and don't let it slip through your fingers.
Don't give up

I referenced these musicals because they give me hope. I did though adjust some of the lyrics to fit the poem.
Musical Lyrics Referenced or Adapted for this poem in order:
Grease: There are worse things I could do.
Phantom of the Opera: Masquerade.
Annie: It's a Hard Knock Life.
Fiddler on the Roof: Sunrise Sunset.
Oliver Twist: Consider Yourself.
Mamma Mia: Slipping Through My Fingers.
