"Fearing the fears provided by reality, is far more frighting than cowering to the phobias manifested by the ancient tongue of paranoia" ~ Alexander J. Dawson

I got addicted a few years back

All my friends were involved with it

But I never thought I'd become a victim too

It just sort of happened one day

I couldn't stop thinking about my addiction

It's where all my time and money went

The high is what caught me

It's what always wins us over

Ask anyone and I bet they will agree

Lying in bed, not a care in the world

Thinking nothing can hurt you

Believing the high would last forever

But I learned the trip can't go on forever

You run into problems, the high isn't the same

You're left fiending alone and that's a killer combo

I'm in recovery now, 2 years clean

But when I look at my friends and their addictions

I have to fight the urge to call up my old dealer
