The moon shines the light
on the darkness covering the forgotten
The light cast before them
is the first light of certainty and remembrance
that they have seen since floating
into this abandoned place

It is the place of doubt, uncertainty,
and fear
It is the shadows that follow behind us
and whisper in our ears that brings us
hesitation in our weakest moments.

These are the forgotten ones
in the moments of levity and peace
It’s a place of hideousness
but a place of beauty and balance
simultaneously.

There is no escape from this place
Nowhere to hide from the doubt
Except to this one ray of light
One small place of greater abandon
Of peace.

I like this in many ways because it seems to fit into many different circumstances and/or emotions, such as anxiety and depression. Good job!
