I once met a girl
And her beauty cast a shadow
On those she intrigued
Her eyes could soften like curves
Or sear like a blazing fire
Her heart could love
But her soul could hate
Like nothing I’d encountered before
When she died
The world cried
But not I
Not a single tear did I shed
For this lover of the night
Who buried her lovers alive
