Wilted Flowers
I see your face wherever I go,
Counting the footsteps you left behind.
We were one, we were forever,
but bitter time does not know of forever.
Past memories of young high school sweetearts,
flash across my fading memory.
Our love blosomed into a beautiful array of flowers,
each delicate petal was more lovelier than the next.
Without your rays of sunshine,
I am lost in the depths of darkness.
The flowers have become wilted,
the petals fall silenty to the ground.
