A confused expression grew on an old man who sat beside Sammuel in the Uber car.
“You- kid with the mask,” says the man with a thick Russian accent. “Where are you going?”
“Paradise- of course. Anywhere away from this filthy city.”
“What is this paradise that you speak of?”

“Well, let me let you the story.
I heard of this place on a very strange day.
It was quite unusual.
I was arranging the cleaning supplies in my closet-
or the hospital’s closet.
I was lucky enough to find this job during the time my mother kicked me out of our house.
Anyways- this closet.
This is like nothing compared to my old home.
It fulfills all my pleasures.
It is the only place close to paradise.
The silence,
Solidarity,
And most importantly,
The sour scent of bleach, lemon, and freshness flowed through the blood of my veins,
and gave me a static rush.

When I first started working here, I would spend hours in this closet-
way above my work schedule.
Then soon after when my mother kicked me out of our house,
the hours turned into days.
The doctors and nurses eventually found out,
and threatened to take my job away.
So now, I sleep on the streets of Bed-stuy in front of this hospital.
I’m always surrounded by diseased-infected psychos,
Who also found their home in the streets of this city.
Every day, their population seems to increase,
as the Mayor’s care seems to decrease.
So every night I cautiously laid waiting,
and craving to get another quick whiff of the vigorating and intensive smell of pure clarity.

And on this day,
This very,
special day.
A new shipment flew in.
Bleach, industrial strength antibacterial soap,
and more magical things that can kill any disease had been shipped to my closet, from Italy.
These were new supplies that the cleaning staff was trying out.
From first glance, I knew that I had met the ones.
Their fresh scent flared my nostrils and made the blood in my vessels float.
The same way my fingers floated-
my legs floated-
my heart floated.
My whole body was intensified with this strong and empowering scent that I just cannot describe.

She,
was mine.
Every second,
Every blink of my eyes,
Every tingle through the palms of my hands,
Every chill that froze the air in my lungs,
Along with the teardrops that fell out of my eyes,
She,
lived here,
She,
was mine,
And I,
was hers.

She- they distracted me,
and left me with my guards down.
I was hypnotized by their essence as I forgot to lock the door.
I usually always lock the door in order to keep diseased pests out of my living space.
But I was tempted.

I began to stuff my bag with as much supplies as I possibly can.
I didn’t want to share any of these with anyone.
I needed to take them away, before they took it away first.
At the exact second when I was putting the last object into my bag,
the door swung open.
I was caught in the act by a Janitor.
He snitched to the head of the hospital, and made me lose my job.
It’s obvious that he was jealous and despised my plan.
He wanted to keep these fresh and beautiful supplies to himself.

But as the sun fell,
My spirits raised.
While I was sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the hospital,
an angel appeared in front of me.
It was Mike.
He works at the front desk of the hospital and had heard that I got fired.
He told me that he understands me,
and that he knows a place far more beautiful and pleasant than this closet.
This mystical-
Wonderful-
Ideal-
Secluded paradise is where my heart lives.
There’s no bacteria, virus, or disease.
They all wear gloves and masks just like these.
And there’s an illuminating pungent smell of disinfectant.
The ceiling, floors, walls, and even my clothes will be a heavenly pure white.
There’s few people there who will understand me- and some are even just like me.
This paradise was made for me, and it is waiting for me.”
