Hot...
Beads of sweat.
Eyes glowing with awe;
as if a tiny ant looking from afar.
Witnessing, watching as its built to the sky.

A vast, glorious creation,  the first of its kind.
The stone blocks each with a purpose and a place;
Built up layer by layer, it took on a fine, pristine shape.
What once appeared like stairs, now smoothed and slicked.
For years, he watched but never thought he would see the final piece.

It towers above those below, completed. A symbol of its people, an everlasting memory.

Curious, he awaits. Awaiting for the sun to set. Awaiting his only chance to see.
Tip-toeing, he treads through the sand, being oh so quiet in the night.
Once inside, his eyes glitter with wonder and amazement.
Walls adorned in paintings and patterns made of gold.
Riches and treasures glow in the soft moonlight.

As the sunlight peeks through, he races back.
back to a tiny ant who looks from afar
back with eyes glowing with awe;
beads of sweat.
