To my teachers, who have seen students far brighter than I, who do not try to pay me or my work any special attention, my intelligence is not enough.
To my boyfriend, who never wants to let me have a night to myself, who wants more from me than I am ready to give, my affections are not enough.
To my peers, who are only concerned with reputations and partying, who do not accept those who do not conform, I am not enough.
Am I enough?
To my family, who loves me even when I do wrong, who supports me through all I do, my friendship is enough.
To my readers, who praise the pieces I work so hard on, who beg to read my latest novel or story, my intelligence is enough.
To my dog, who has loved me since we met, who comforts me without fail, my affections are enough.
To myself, who recognizes her own flaws, who strives continuously to better herself without losing who she is
