It dwells within--
Slumbering beneath my skin
I feel it day to day--
It holds me captive without my say
I fight to breathe
To eat
To live--
I struggle, but it will not give
It takes control;
A dictator without a soul
Destroying my consciousness--
I become anonymous
A grey scale with a smile--
Nothing worthwhile
But don't misunderstand
My heart still beats
My chest expand
But what is a person
That does nothing but worsen
What is a soul when not whole--
What am I?
