Average attracts average. I want you to be allergic to average. Only then will you be successful-Eric Thomas

the sun sets slowly and the sky burns
a bright indigo red, like life
receding under the blankets
of a cool breeze.
the busy bees sigh and buzz away
their furry legs kissing soft flower petals
as they skim slowly home,
drunk and laden from pollen and honey;
the lone toad croaks and moans
a sad throaty love song,
before retiring under the muddy creek
for a long night.

the sun sets slowly, and the buds on twigs
slowly set and sit still, as if waiting
throughout the night, sleeping, and waiting,
for the next rays of sun.

still as a statue,
the grass, trees, and moon
hold their breaths
as the night envelopes us
in beautiful silence, eyes closed.

Looking out the window, and realizing that when night falls, nature dies a little.
