migraines
My thoughts transport me
not to places or planets
laced with imagination, but
my direction shifts
my perspective adapts
I lose another shard of innocence
impossible to retrace
impossible to retrace
the sweet memories, substituted
with bleak shadows
that swirl silently inside
kept secret, the pressure builds
the wind picks up
chasing its tail, a twister emerges
a migraine instills
a migraine instills
in the eye of all storms
the roots are stripped from the soil
thunder surpasses my voice
my vision is clouded by déjàvu
the aftermath is all I have left
new hope glitters through the rubble
sometimes.
