"Moderation is a fatal thing; nothing succeeds like excess"

Self imploding entities collide and I see stars, and you.
My mind is a pinball machine at the local pizzeria and you are the ball, my only focus
You occupy the entirety of my thoughts and send my head into a frenzy
Light bulbs flashing, bells whistling, corkscrews whirling
Sensory overload, and you.
My mind is a constant buzz but maybe I'm just high off the thought of you
Soaring heights, rockets moving at sonic speed
I observe you like a hawk and decode your every word
The rocket picks up speed and I see you smile. I know how you love the unknown
I hold on for dear life
But then we exit orbit and gravity is gone, along with common sense
I call out your name and you turn without hesitation. I love the way you think you love me.
Your eyes reflect back into mine and they're beautiful, full of uncharted waters.

You are a sea of unknowns and those oceans hold infinite possibilities
You are my mystery, and I am your anomaly.
I open my eyes underwater and it burns like hell. You are worth the pain.
I look for beauty, for complexity, for you

I find broken childhood toys that you don't wish to see
I find empty liquor bottles that you drank alone.
I find a shattered photograph of your father holding you at age 9.
I wondered if you've smiled like that since he left the next year
I turn to look for more, more you, but I see a barren ocean floor.
My hands flutter, I flounder, trying to focus on anything but your unnerving stare

You bat your eyelashes mindlessly and I break
