Winter
In the winter I watch
as I see him scurry
across the field of snow,
my wings open and I fly
silent like a killer, he
can’t see me but I can
see him I fall like a bomb,
faster and faster with
precision, I open my talons
I’m too late he’s gone,
into the snow now the white one
can get him.
As I watch he misses
I stalk like he flys,
but I am swift and light
crawling through snow
I hear him under the
soft white powder
moving fast,
but i’m faster
following slowly I jump
plowing through snow,
red fills my mouth
all I taste is iron
but I missed,
it falls out of my mouth
my tongue.
I scurry for my life,
going as fast as I can
Tallons come though my home
I dip left
moving fast,
must run to survive
snow topples onto me
red flys everywhere
running for my life
