She takes off not looking

back, Her cleats gripping
the ground, Pushing through her
teammates, Leading the pack she is
on top, The hiss of the wind reminds her
to keep going, Emotions on her face show
fear
but bravery all together

One path could do all the
damage, All within one
break, Falling behind
she is a small fawn to the cougars,
Wanting to get back on
track, To win again
Losing but never
forgetting.
