Thousands of years ago, people made discoveries
They cured diseases just so people could make recoveries
They thought up formulas to use common sense
They designed weapons so we could learn to use self-defense
But over time, we lost ideas
We’re not sure what to do
We sit around and do nothing
The fate of the world is up to you
Will you advance technology? Will you fill the world with peace?
The number of sociopaths on this planet is starting to increase
Every thought we’ve ever had is composed of words made by the human race
Unless you’ve invented words, you’ve got something to face
In reality, we haven’t actually created a thing
Our slim chance of creation is now hanging by a string
Over years, we won’t be able to do anything; we’ll bore
Our lives will go downhill because we can’t think anymore
This sad, possible outcome is something we can prevent
We’re going to have to give our thought 110%
But if we don’t do this, our minds will start to secede from our heads
We’ll lose our dominant, thoughtless, mind controlling threads
We might have to face reality
How tragic that would be
Whether the world will end that way
We’ll have to wait and see
Every word has been said
Originality is dead

I had the idea for this poem for a long time. I was thinking about how hard it is to get ideas because so many of them have been taken. I think that even though it seems like everything has been thought of already, we'll have to think harder to unlock the several ideas that haven't been discovered. Thinkers are the modern explorers.
