Broken
Some people see a smile
A sign of happiness
Some crack jokes
To hide their brokenness
People only see what they want
Open your eyes look a little deeper
See the broken person
Who seems to never be happier
That person that you see
Only so mean
They learn to trust the hard way
Broken many times
Broken
Left shattered
No one left to place
Those broken pieces together
Look past the exterior
Climb those towering walls
Push the person till they let it all out
Then take those broken pieces
Put them back in place
You just saved a life
A life that felt broken
Now put into place

My friend and I always have this tough exterior of being mean and witty and always cracking jokes to mask our feelings. This inspired me to write this poem.
