Against all odds
As I start climbing a mountain
The odds turn against me
The weather is hostile; it's icy cold
Oxygen runs in short supply
The terrain is rough
And gravity pulls against me
But my ambition is strong; dreams big
Great is my fortitude; and so is my resilience
With tentative steps I move forward
Slowly gaining momentum
Even if at this stage I fall, I will rise again
I refuse to give up; I refuse to give in
That which I aspire to achieve is not beyond my strength
For it I will fight tooth and nail.

I wrote this poem when I was feeling dejected because poetry is to me a world wherein I find solace.
