"Kindness is a language that the blind can see and the death can hear." -Mark Twain

Living in our world
Full of people, places, and things
Finding my identity, and who I want to be.
Entering high school, freshmen year, aspiring to succeed.
I try my best, give all my effort, and work from my heart
And love doing kind things.
I want to be a valuable family member, friend, student, and peer
A caring, considerate character.
Without hesitation, put into action my better impulses.
I will be myself forever in my life, and be a happy person, a smooth sea
I am who I am and love who I am.
Even when the rocky waves come rolling in to shore, I will stay strong
I have control over how I feel and will not let the tides engulf me.
Someday I will give back to the people who support me most
I will go to college, get my dream job, and someday have a family of my own
Continuing to do the things that I love, taking time for relaxation, serenity, and delight
High school doesn’t last long, and you only live once
We cannot wrap time up in a box
I wish to enjoy my time, work hard, and be a stand out person.
The woosh of the wind tells me that it’s time
The years are passing by, and I’m ready to fly.

This poem is about my desires and aspirations for this year and beyond. I hope this inspires others to dream big, as well!
