Peaceful
It sprinkles down
Softly
The sun filters through its drizzle casting glittering speckles through the air
Hesitantly
A little girl twirls, and it ricochets off of bare arms
Splashing
It falls harder as she turns and realizes she’s alone
Darkening
It interweaves with the ashen surroundings as the girl shuts her eyes, tears threatening to escape
Rumble
It bellows as she calls, “Mama?”
Flash
It intensifies as the girl sits and bawls, her tears blending with the sodden ground
Squelch
Droplets fly up as she pats down next to her in near defeat
Restrained
It dulls, and she glances at her hand, curiosity overflowing
Forceful
It gusts with the wind, but the girl stands
Again
It pounds down and bounces up again smacking her spinning arms playfully
Tired
It slowly dots the terrain and tickles the girl’s body which lays in a twinkling puddle
Sighing
It leaves; the girl is serene and content
