Children flee on witch's brooms
and racecars;
viewing each house as a new handful of sweets.
The night swallows all of the laughs and howls.
I have graduated from the taker to the giver.

I like your costume, miss.
For, isn't it funny how
on the one night you get to dress up
as something you are not,
I still found myself begging to be someone else.
